Senior/Associate Planner

Who are we looking for?
Due to continuing growth, we are looking for a Chartered Town Planner (full member of the RTPI) at the Senior Planner / Associate Planer level to join our friendly and busy team in Liverpool City Centre. Ideally you will have a minimum 5-8 years’ professional experience (in either the private or public sector). You must have a degree in town planning degree or related subject.
You should possess a sound knowledge of the planning system and experience of a wide range of planning issues. You should have good interpersonal communication and relationship management skills, have the ability to manage and prioritise projects on a day-to-day basis and be able to support senior staff on larger projects.
We are looking for candidates who are well motivated and ready to get involved in key projects, instilling high standards of work and building up good, strong client relationships.
You must be willing to assist senior staff in maintaining positive relationships with existing clients and growing the company’s client base. You must therefore be willing to undertake a business development and marketing role alongside project-based work. This will include networking, face-to-face meetings with potential new clients, and assistance with preparing client briefing notes and sharing information / intel.

Supporting your professional development
We support our staff with a very active training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme which is intended to educate, inform and invite feedback.
Our CPD programme involves presentations from both external speakers and internal staff members, with all staff encouraged to present on a relevant topic to develop their presentation skills.
Every staff member is formally reviewed at least annually. During this process, achievements and future targets are reflected upon and discussed – always with the aim of learning and moving forward.

What do we expect from you?
As a Senior or Associate Planner you will work under the supervision of senior staff but also be given the opportunity to lead on projects. You will:

  • Provide commercial planning advice to a range of clients
  • Prepare high-quality planning submissions
  • Manage project and consulting teams of varying sizes
  • Build strong client relationships through networking and maintaining existing client relationships
  • Proactively manage engagement with the local planning authority and other key stakeholders
  • Represent your clients’ commercial interests throughout the planning process
  • Have excellent written, verbal and technical skills appropriate to your role
  • provide support to senior staff on both project related work and business development
  • Generally, contribute to the growth and success of the Liverpool office and wider DLP Group

Ecologist/BNG Specialist

Cass Design Consultants is an award-winning multi-disciplinary design practice with an established reputation for the delivery of high-quality design solutions. Cass is part of the DLP Consulting Group Ltd, a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with offices in London, Bedford, Liverpool, Sheffield, Bristol, Milton Keynes, Rugby and Nottingham.

Due to a rapidly increasing workload, we are seeking a talented ecologist to join our team and lead the expansion of national ecology services across the Group. This presents a real opportunity for career advancement within a collaborative and friendly practice offering the full spectrum of landscape, planning and design services. Based ideally in our busy studio in central Liverpool, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects across the whole of the UK.

Role Requirements

  • Biodiversity Net Gain experience, in particular carrying out and coordinating biodiversity impact assessments, BNG option assessments for planning applications and drafting and agreeing Biodiversity Gain Plans.
  • Experience of the purchase of biodiversity units and credits as part of an offsetting scheme.
  • Experience of the planning and coordination of specialist ecological surveyors (independent contractors) who are likely to be based nationwide near to individual development sites.
  • Experience in providing reports for planning submissions and discharging of conditions attached to planning permissions.
  • You will be willing to work as part of a team, dedicated to meeting both client requirements and providing practical solutions.
  • A full driving licence and the ability to travel when necessary.
  • Salary will be negotiable, depending on experience.
